Start with the purpose
Before choosing a model or adding an assistant, describe the task it should support. Could a simpler rule, a clear piece of writing or a conventional interface do the job more reliably? An AI feature earns its place when it improves the experience, not simply because it is available.
Treat an output as something to check
A fluent answer can still be wrong. Check factual statements against appropriate sources, review code in its actual context and inspect generated visuals for unwanted details. The amount of review should match the consequences of an error. A playful title suggestion and an instruction that affects someone’s safety need very different treatment.
Decide what information belongs in the tool
Before submitting information to an AI service, consider whether it is necessary, whether you have permission to use it and what the provider does with it. Avoid confidential material and personal information when a fictional example will do. A future product that sends user input to an AI provider should explain that flow before the feature is used.
Keep the person in control
Where a generated result matters, let the person inspect and change it before taking action. Explain limitations in the interface at the moment they are relevant. Useful controls might include a preview, an edit step or a clear option to discard the result. Good design makes uncertainty understandable instead of hiding it behind confidence.
Describe the role of AI honestly
For published work, the final editorial responsibility remains with the publisher. For a product, people need to know what the AI feature does, what it sends elsewhere and what it cannot reliably do. Those details belong on the product page and in its privacy information, rather than in a broad promise that AI makes everything better.
What this means at GoodTwig
GoodTwig may use AI as an aid to research, drafting, design exploration and software creation. The intent is to review the result, respect rights and use the simplest suitable approach. This website does not contain a visitor-facing AI chatbot and does not send visitor messages to an AI model.
